Wüsthof will open its first concept “shop within a shop” at Cooks of Crocus Hill, a MN-based independent gourmet housewares store with locations in St. Paul and Minneapolis. The grand opening will take place at the retailer’s North Loop Minneapolis location on October 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
According to Cooks of Crocus Hill co-owner Marie Dwyer, the retailer worked closely with Wüsthof to develop the concept shop, which will showcase a mix of both classic and the latest cutlery assortment from the brand. The concept shop will be clean, simple and modular in design, with work stations and displays that will take the cutlery shopping experience outside of the traditional display case.
“The shop will certainly enhance our knife skills classes. The work table that is in place can be utilized for selling knives on the spot and we will be able to have room to set-up mini knife skills classes as well. We see it as an opportunity for a full blown knife experience that adds a level of innovation in our space,” she said.
The grand opening event will feature demonstrations by Wüshtof’s resident Chef Mike, and there will also be free knife sharpening and other activities. The retailer is also offering a 15% storewide discount on purchases made during the evening.
