Zojirushi America Corp. is appealing to consumer preferences for smart home appliances with its kitchen electrics introductions, including the company’s first smart toaster oven for the U.S. market.
The Micom Toaster Oven ET-ZLC30, comes with 12 functions, including an automatic “rise-then-bake” homemade function that proofs shaped dough and automatically switches to bake. The interior is wide enough to accommodate a 12-inch pizza or four slices of toast. The control panel on the bottom makes for a smaller footprint, and the mirrored glass door makes it stylish and allows it to fit seamlessly into any kitchen, the company noted. The unit will be available in July, with a suggested retail price of $251.
“Zojirushi has been known for products designed for the foods and lifestyle of Japan, but our goal at Zojirushi America has been to expand our product line to cater to the needs and lifestyle of American consumers,” said Marilyn Matsuba, marketing manager, Zojirushi America.
She added, “We are excited to launch our new large smart toaster oven. We are also upgrading our top-of-the-line rice cooker with features such as ‘steel cut oatmeal’ and ‘jasmine rice’ settings that have been popular with our mid-tier rice cookers, in hopes that all our rice cookers can become an everyday use appliance, and not just a product brought out for special occasions.”
